Field work

While I don’t consider photography as a viable thing I could ever be hired to do (though I welcome you to prove me wrong), I can’t help but redistribute a bit of my creative activity into something that’s just for me, no strings attached. Plus, there’s a lot to be said about not really having any idea what I’m doing behind the lens: I stand behind a subject, without any expectations of getting it right; I turn knobs, spin dials, press buttons; and, if I’m lucky, I end up finding a somewhat decent way to capture the spirit of the moment, almost always by accident.

I mostly enjoy framing and stealing shots of things hiding in plain sight — the neglected, even dilapidated, yet still-standing things that I otherwise miss when I’m on the other side of the lens.
